Food, Fitness, and Science

I’m opting to study a bit this morning since I have my anesthesia test on Wednesday.  Forgive me for the bare bones post!  Kyle and I had a fabulous weekend; I hope you did too!

I’ll recap with some pictures of what I’ve been eating, how I’ve been sweating, and what I’ve been studying :-)

Food

Friday's lunch talk had food catered in. That cookie was definitely bigger than my sandwich. And I definitely had 2 of them.

2:18:8Kyle and I went to a restaurant in Indianapolis called Brugge.  We ordered 2 lbs of mussels steamed in garlic and red chilies to share.  They were out of this world.

The mussels came with pommel frites or french fries, and 3 different sauces.

Fitness

Friday, I completed another Chalene Extreme workout.  I’m still loving these!

On Saturday, I tried a new to me workout- Cathe Xtrain.  I can’t wait to tell you guys more about this workout DVD series… it is AMAZING.

What I like best about the Cathe Xtrain is the number of workouts you can choose:

This is just an example of all the different workouts you can do. This is just one disk- there are 9 DVDs in the pack!

I did 2 Tabatas, Core 1, and Hard Strikes from a different disc. Great workout!

Science

Friday I studied, Saturday I studied a tiny bit, and Sunday I studied somewhere in between the amount I studied on Friday and Saturday.  It all looked like this:

  1. I’m so glad you had an amazing dinner with Kyle! The Cathe DVDs are next on my list to try. I’ve been using a new Pilates DVD set that I love. The thing I was wondering about the Cathe DVDs, do you need all the workout equipment they mention on the back? If so, I’m going to have to take my DVD to my gym, because I don’t have stair steppers and such in my house. It’s good incentive to buy that stuff though! ;p

    • For the 2 different discs I tried, I didn’t have any equipment besides dumbbells and I was fine. She used a step and some slider things, but I was exhausted without the step and I could make due without the slider things. She also used a band for a few exercises but I just kept using dumbbells and it worked out fine!

  2. Aw dang, I should have jumped at the idea to check those babies out when I had the chance! The mussels look amazing, the studying not so much. Haha. I hope you have a great day!

  3. I am so pumped to have Cathe XTrain to try too. She is like my fitness idol and I have loved her for years. Her workout DVDs were actually the first thing that ever got me into fitness. I’ve decided to start doing her 90 day program loosely and have loved every workout I have tried so far.
