First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!!!! I hope you have the best day ever! I’m so sorry I’m not there to eat lots of cake with you. Love you so much!
I started yesterday with a spinning class with my friend Sara. This is the third week in a row we’ve gone together! Go us! I was THRILLED because there was a substitute instructor and her music was 98493858 times better than the usual lady who plays 90′s club remixes.
Then I started to work my booty off! I have SO much to do for my E-cigarettes paper which is due next week… Yikes! In between typing away on my computer, I ate my usual breakfast of oatmeal, egg whites, blueberries, and walnuts. Then I had this delicious sandwich:
Later, I had these salmon cakes and the very last of my veggies (I need to go grocery shopping!)
I had some rice chips on the side (total impulse purchase at Whole Fo0ds). Also, please don’t judge my ketchup- I just love it so much I can’t give it up even though I know it’s not the best condiment out there. Some days when I’m working or studying I feel like literally all I do is walk back and forth between the kitchen and my desk. Before I know it, 3 hours have passed and I’m hungry again! I definitely ate these rice cakes dipped in peanut butter:
While watching the Real Housewives of NY Throwback!!! They were playing one of the very first seasons and Bethenny was still there! I am so obsessed with that show.
Don’t you just love Jill??? Then it was back to work:
Why yes there are 3 coffee cups on my desk… is that bad? By mid-day I was going crazy reading about cigarettes so I decided to try a new P90X workout that I hadn’t done before. The name ‘Core Synergistics’ made me think it wouldn’t be that tough of a workout. Well, I was wrong! I heard someone call it ‘Sore Synergistics’ and they were right! Holy moly it was tough. And finally, the working day was done and Kyle came home from work! We both cleaned up and headed downtown for a little medical school get together.
Alpha Omega Alpha or AOA is a medical honor society for 3rd or 4th years. To be elected as a 3rd year, you have to be top 10 of your class (we have 309 in our class). The people who get it 3rd year are straight ballers. I am not that cool. But I did get it this year! You have to be in the top 25% of your class to be eligible to apply. Your application is scored based on research, community service, and leadership. They can select 38 out of our class of 309 and I got it! AOA is actually kind of a big deal and I almost popped with joy when I got the email saying I was selected. It will say AOA on my diploma and I think you get to wear something cool at graduation (like a pin or a sash or something). Annie is one of my closest med-school friends and she got into AOA as a 3rd year- she is CRAZY smart. So she organized a night out for all the new 4th year members.
Also, of the 38 members, 4 of us are applying for Ophthalmology! Go ophtho! We were missing one of the girls, but Tara (left) Lori (right) and I definitely needed a picture together to show to ophtho department how cool we are
Kyle! I think he somehow went around and collected tickets so his name was entered a million times… tricky. It was a great night!
Questions: Do you eat more when you’re hard at work or studying? I get so hungry when I study
Have you ever underestimated a workout like I did? What was it?
